Betting Odds and Predictions – Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 On October 9
Indian combat sports fans will tune in to one of the most anticipated heavyweight fights of 2021 when Tyson ‘the Gypsy King’ Fury faces Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder on October 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada.
Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder – History
The first time these two fighters faced each other was back in December 2018, when their fight ended in a split draw. Wilder had some great moments in this fight, including one where he knocked Fury to the canvas and though he fought the bag until Fury miraculously got off the canvas and fought back.
The split decision forced both fighters to step back into the ring in Feb 2020. This time around, the fight was a lot more one-sided, with Fury dominating and eventually Wilder’s corner threw in the towel in the 7th round to give Fury the win and Wilder’s WBC title.
Wilder was furious with his corner for throwing in the towel and had a lot of things to say in the weeks after. He accused his corner of plotting against him, blamed the heavy outfit he wore to the ring for causing him to gas early and make his legs weak and claimed that Fury had something hidden in his gloves.
Wilder triggered the rematch clause, but Fury wasn’t too keen on fighting Wilder again as he wanted to fight fellow Brit Anthony Joshua. The boxing commission disagreed and forced Fury to get back into the ring for the third time and face Wilder as per their contract.
Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder – 3
The Gypsy King goes into this fight as the heavy betting favorite with odds of 1.33, while Wilder is the underdog with odds of 3.25. It is not a surprise to see Fury as the betting favorite given he won the last fight and has been very vocal on social media about what he is going to do to Wilder the third time.
Fury has continued the mental warfare with Wilder claiming that the Bronze Bomber did not show any class in defeat and has been unable to accept the fact that he was beaten. Wilder’s loss to Fury was the first loss of his boxing career. Fury did pay him respect when he called him the most dangerous heavyweight boxer on the planet but said he would smash him to bits.
Fury has dominated the press conferences for this fight as Wilder has chosen to tune out by keeping on his headphones and not answering any questions. This should be concerning for bettors as it looks like Fury has already got in to the head of Wilder.
Wilder Makes Changes To His Camp
Wilder has made significant changes to his camp leading up to this fight. His old coach, who he accused of betraying him, is no longer with him, and he is now training with Malik – a boxer that Fury has a win over.
Wilder has also put a lot of effort into his weight training and fitness, and he looks in better shape than he has ever before. His most dangerous weapon going into this fight is going to be his powerful right hand. His two biggest weaknesses that will be tested in this fight are his mental strength and cardio.
Fury will talk a lot of trash while they are in the ring, and Wilder needs to keep his emotions in check, or he runs the risk of playing into Fury’s mind games, swinging wild and burning himself out quickly. Will Wilder be able to silence all the mind games leading up to the fight? Will Wilder be able to keep his emotions in check throughout the fight? Will Wilder be able to go the distance?
Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder – Predictions
We think there are too many questions surrounding Wilder for us to be confident that he will leave the ring with his hand lifted. While he does have incredible KO power, Fury has shown that he can not only take a punch but also give it back in return.
We will put our money on Fury not just because he talks a big game but because he has shown in the past that he can back the talk up. One concern for Fury is that he looks huge, which he says will be an advantage going into this fight. Fury has had to deal with COVID-19 and an unwell child. He found it difficult to control his diet during this month and packed on some pounds.
Will the extra weight work in favour of Fury or end up hurting him in the end? We think it might help him and hence back Fury to win. To what end will you place your money on your betting site?
