Betting tips for RCB vs. KKR & SRH vs. CSK
Let’s take a closer look at these two matchups, in order to better determine where to place our bets.
RCB vs. KKR
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders on 13 October and both teams will be very keen to walk away with a win. RCB (1.80) go in as slight favorites with the bookmakers while KKR (2.00) are the underdogs. While the bookmakers have RCB ahead this is a hard match to call as both sides are coming of a win in their last game.
RCB are currently ranked in fourth place on the IPL points table and know that another win will push them close to qualifying for the IPL playoffs. Captain Virat Kohli is slowly hitting his groove as he put in a match winning performance against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last game and his batting against KKR could very well be the difference.
KKR currently sit in third place on the IPL points table and are only ahead of RCB based on their net run rate. KKR are yet to click in this IPL as they have had flashes of brilliance from their players but haven’t fired as a team consistently.
Things could swing in favour of RCB right at the toss. There is no secret that Virat Kohli is the best finisher in the shorter format of the game and the RCB captain will most likely want to get KKR in and restrict them to a small total, should RCB win the toss. RCB have a strong batting line-up and will be able to put pressure on KKR bowlers.
However, if RCB end up batting first and get a total that is below 160, then you might want to put your money on KKR if you are going with live betting. Andre Russell is yet to set the tournament on fire and he is definitely due for a big innings.
The biggest factor in betting on or against KKR is the unpredictable captaincy of KKR’s captain Dinesh Karthik. His captaincy has come under the scanner yet again due to some of his decisions, especially with regards to the batting order. If you are looking for a safe bet, go ahead and back RCB. If you want to take a little risk, put your money on KKR and see if this explosive side can put their heads down and come out with a win on October 13.
SRH vs. CSK
SRH go in as the favorites with odds of 2.0 to CSK’s 1.80. SRH are coming off a loss against the Rajasthan Royals and will be keen to beat CSK and get 2 important points to their tally. SRH will once again be depending heavily on their overseas players to put the runs on the board and put pressure on CSK.
CSK have played poorly during the 2020 IPL and currently sit in 7th place on the IPL points table having played 7 games and lost 5 of those. Should they end up losing this game against the Sunrisers it could very well be the end of CSK’s quest to win the IPL Championship in 2020 as it will be very difficult for the men in yellow to bounce back and have a chance at making the playoffs.
CSK fans have been terribly disappointed with MS Dhoni and his team as they have failed to live up to expectations. They have lashed out on social media criticizing Dhoni and multiple players in the CSK franchise. The truth of the matter is that this CSK line-up is missing Suresh Raina as he generally controls the innings at number 3. His overall experience and ability in the field is also being missed as CSK have crumbled under pressure situations.
If Sunrisers end up batting first, it is going to put more pressure on CSK as Sunrisers have an explosive batting line-up at the top. CSK have batted second in all 7 games and have only won 2 chasing – so do keep this in mind.
If Sunrisers manage to get off to a good start, they should be able to get to a total in excess of 160. CSK have shown in previous games that they struggle to make it to 160 and don’t have the explosive batsmen in the middle and lower order that can play the big shots and chase down big totals.
Given the current form of CSK, it is a safe bet to go ahead and back SRH. However, MS Dhoni has always been a proud man and will be desperately trying to get CSK back to their winning ways. Whether he and his team will be able to turn things around against SRH on October 14 remains to be seen.
