India Are Betting Favorites In 5 Match T20 Series Against England

India is coming from a great 3-1 test series victory over England and is high in confidence. The action now moves to the game’s shorter format as the two sides will clash next in a five-match T20 series.

Betting Odds For T20 Series

All five T20 games will occur at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, where the last two test matches were held. All five games will be night games. The first T20 is scheduled to take place on March 12, the second T20 is set for March 14, and the third T20 will take place on March 16. The fourth T20 takes place on March 18, and the final T20 is set for March 20.

There are no surprises here as Indians are the betting favorites with odds of 1.66 while England is the underdogs at 2.20. These betting odds will change after the first T20, so if you are looking to bet with these odds, you can do so before the first T20 begins.

If you are looking to bet on the series outcome in terms of the scoreline, these are the odds. The odds for India winning 5-0 is at 13.00, winning 4-1 is at 5.00, and India to win 3-2 is at 2.75. The odds for England to win the series 5-0 is at 23.00, to win 4-1 is at 7.50 and to win at 3-2 is at 3.25.

England Back To Full Strength

England suffered in the Test series due to their strange rotation policy. The chopping and changing after each test match did not give England the stability they needed in both the batting and bowling order.

They will not face that problem in the T20 series as the selectors have named a strong squad for the five-match T20 series. All of the top T20 specialists in England are featured in this squad, and it will be up to the selectors to get the playing XI right for the first T20.

Eoin Morgan is also back to lead the squad, and his captaincy skills are going to play a big role in how the series turns out for England. The one drawback for England during the T20 series is that many of their T20 players have not been exposed to the spin-friendly track in Ahmedabad, which could be a problem.

Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, Sam Billings, Jos Butler, Moeen Ali, and the captain Eoin Morgan may take a couple of games to find their feet, giving India a great chance to win the first couple of T20 games.

India Playing A Strong Squad

India will want to use these five T20 games to finalize the list of players they will look to feature in the T20 World Cup, which will take place later this year in India.

India will retain several players from the test, including skipper Virat Kohli, vice-captain Rohit Sharma, Rishab Pant, and W Sundar. However, some senior players who were not part of the test squad will also return and strengthen the squad. We take a full look at both T20 squads below.

India T20 Squad

Virat Kohli will lead the squad, and Rohit Sharma will be his deputy.  Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Washington Sundar, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Varun Chakravarthy, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, T Natarajan, Deepak Chahar, and Navdeep Saini.

England T20 Squad

Eoin Morgan will captain the side. Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonathan Bairstow (wicket-keeper), Sam Billings, Jos Buttler (wicket-keeper), Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan. Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, and Mark Wood.

Our Prediction

We think India definitely has the upper hand in the first couple of T20 games because they have the momentum going for them. England’s T20 specialists will take time to adjust to the conditions in Ahmedabad.

If India should take a 2-0 lead in the 5 match series, the pressure will be on England to fight back, and it should make it easier for India to win either 4-1 or 3-2. We expect England to win at least one game during the series as they are a very good T20 side. England’s best chance of winning the series is to win the first T20 series and put the home side under pressure.

If you are looking to bet on each T20 game, we suggest you put your money on India to win the first T20 game.
