Which Team Has The Best Odds To Win The 2022 FIFA World Cup?

Indian fans have just finished with cricketing action with the conclusion of the 2022 T20 World Cup and will now turn their attention to football as the 2022 FIFA World Cup will start on 20 Nov and end on 18 Dec in Qatar.

Teams from 32 countries will compete to be crowned the 2022 FIFA World Cup champions. The matches will be played across five cities: Al Khor, Doha, Lusail, Al Rayyan, and Al Wakrah.

India has never qualified to be a part of the FIFA World Cup, but football fans across India will still be able to bet on their favorite teams to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

We take a look at the top 5 teams that are betting favorites and then share our predictions below.

France – Defending Champions

Betting Odds: 7.00

France won the 2018 FIFA World Cup after defeating Croatia, who surprised everyone and made it to the finals. France goes into this World Cup as one of the top three betting favorites as they have retained a very similar squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The top players to watch out for includes 2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, the talented PSG forward Kylian Mbappe, and Antoine Griezmann. France will definitely miss Paul Pogba in the mid-field as he is still recovering from injury.

France should make the playoffs as part of Group D, which includes Tunisia, Denmark, and Australia.

Brazil – Top Betting Favorite

Betting Odds: 5.00

No team has won more FIFA World Cups (5) than Brazil. They suffered a shock defeat to Mexico in 2018 and did not reach the quarter-final stage. One of the reasons was poor team selection, but this time around, Brazil appears to have got it right.

Neymar Jr will lead Brazil in Qatar and be surrounded by a bunch of star players such as Vinicius Junior and Antony. Brazil has played great football to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and will look to continue that form. They should make the playoffs as they are the strong team in Group G, which consist of Switzerland, Serbia, and Cameroon.

Brazil is the betting favorite at the moment, and rightly so!

Argentina – Second Betting Favorite

Betting Odds: 6.50

Argentina goes into each World Cup with huge expectations but fails to deliver as they tend to rely too much on their star players. The last time Argentina made it to a World Cup final was back in 2014. The bookmakers have Argentina among the top three betting favorites, and that’s mostly because they have the best player in the world, Captain Lionel Messi.

While Messi is a genius, we don’t think he can carry Argentina to a World Cup win unless he gets support from the likes of Angel Di Maria and Paulo Dybala.

England – Crowd Favorites

Betting Odds: 9.00

England is one of the teams that will be the crowd favorites simply because the Premier League is so popular worldwide, and they have a bunch of good players starting with Captain Harry Kane.

England made it to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, lost to Croatia, and then lost to Belgium in a third-place playoff. England should top Group B, which includes Iran, the USA, and Wales.

Germany – Dark Horse

Betting Odds: 11.0

Germany did not make it to the playoffs of the 2018 World Cup and, as a result, is not a favorite to win in 2022. However, Germany has won 4 FIFA World Cups and is a threat to any side, which is why we have Germany as a dark horse in 2022 to win.

Germany is in Group E, which is a tough group, including Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica. The Germans have a strong side led by veteran goalie Manuel Neuer, seasoned players Mario Gotze and Thomas Muller, along with young stars Youssoufa Moukoko and Kai Havertz.

Prediction: We think that Germany will surprise a lot of teams and win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
