UFC Fight Night Betting Odds For Błachowicz vs. Rakic On 14 May

UFC Fight Night Betting Odds For Błachowicz vs. Rakic On 14 May

The UFC had a pretty good outing in Arizona with UFC 274 that lived up to the hype except for the co-main event which was a flop. The UFC is looking to put on another great night of fights with a UFC Fight Night event that features some great action in the light-heavyweight division.

This card will be headlined by former UFC lightweight champ Jan Błachowicz who will be fighting for the first time since losing his fight. Błachowicz is the number one contender and will take on the number 3 in Austrian Aleksandar Rakic. The co-main event will also be a light-heavyweight fight that features two hard hitters as Ryan Spann takes on Ion Cutelaba.

The UFC has received criticism in recent weeks that their Fight Night cards were very weak apart from the main and co-main events. The UFC has loaded this card as the prelims have some great fights that could easily be featured on the main card.

Our experts look at the betting odds and share their views on who they think will end up winning on the night.

Main Event: Błachowicz vs. Rakic

Błachowicz was supposed to fight earlier but he suffered a serious injury that forced him to take time out and recover. The former champ is ready to go now and has a stiff test before him as Rakic is pushing to get a win and be next in line to challenge for the UFC lightweight championship.

Rakic goes in as the betting favorite for this fight with odds of 5/8 while the former champ is the underdog with odds of 13/10. We don’t agree with these odds as we think both fighters are evenly matched on their feet but Błachowicz does have the advantage as we think he is better on the ground.

Błachowicz also has more experience being in the main event and going 5 rounds. If the fight goes past 3 rounds, the odds should definitely swing heavily in the favour of Błachowicz. Rakic’s best chance to win is in the early rounds as he will be at his explosive best. If Błachowicz can avoid the early onslaught, and take him down a couple of times, he will take command of this fight.

We are going to back the legendary polish power of Błachowicz and put our money on him to win.

Co-Main Event: Spann vs. Cutelaba

Ion Cutelaba is always looking to finish the fight and have an early night. Spann is also known to throw down and hit hard. We expect this fight to be a slugfest and don’t expect it to go the distance as both fighters hit very hard and have the ability to end the fight with one-punch knockout power. This fight was scheduled to take place in Feb 2022 but it got pushed to May 14 and fans are looking forward to this barn burner.

Cutelaba is currently the betting favorite but not by much as he has odds of 2/1 while Spann is the underdog with odds of 1/2. This is a tough fight to pick the winner as there’s not a lot of difference in terms of technical power and strength between the two fighters. We think the fighter who decides to play a more patient game and stick to their gameplay will end up winning the fight. We are going to put our money on Cutelaba to win this fight!

Three Exciting Fights You Must Not Miss

You should check out the entire fight card to see the great card that the UFC has put together. Apart from the main and co-main event, the three fights that we think you must watch are as follows.

Chookagian vs. Ribas: Katlyn Chookagian is a former UFC flyweight title challenger who is still one of the best in the division. She is taking on Brazilian Amanda Ribas who is pushing hard to get closer to a title shot. Chookagian enters as the favorite with odds of 8/11 while Ribas is the underdog with odds of 10/11. We are going to put our money on Ribas as we think she will win by taking this fight to the ground.

Viviane Araujo vs. Andrea Lee: Lee is probably the better striker on the feet which is why she is the betting favorite at 4/5 but we think Araujo who has odds of 1/1 will be able to get the win in this fight as we think the ground game from the Brazilian is better when compared to Lee.

Virna Jandiroba vs. Angela Hill: Hill is a tough opponent and a crowd favorite because of her willingness to always come forward. She goes in as the underdog with odds of 13/10 while Jandiroba is the favorite at 5/8 because of her superior ground game. We expect Jandiroba to win this fight by submission!
